Latin name: Akebia Quinata
Common name: Chocolate Vine or FiveLeaf Akebia
Description:  

The Choloate Vine grows to 10 metres or more and has compound leaves with five leaflets. The fruits are sausage shaped pods which contain edible pulp.

Suitable for growing on an upright structure or as a groundcover creeper.

Small purple -brown flowers starting may/june.

Tolerates many soil types, preferably moist, fertile, and well-drained.

Apply fertiliser at the manufacturers recommended rate during initial planting. Feed regularly during the first growing season to help the plant become established. After this, feed once per year in spring.
